This documentary style film was released in 2010, and describes the intriguing series of events that central character Nev experiences, all initiated by, and immersed in Facebook. Nev, who embarks on a virtual adventure of both mystery and potential romance is shocked to find that this suspense-filled journey leads down a road of heartbreaking dishonesty. The trailer for this film has been slated by critics for being misleading in conveying the film as a horror, something I do agree with, but overall the film is definitely worth watching and will have you gripped from the start! Some reviews regarding this film have been questioning the authenticity of the film, saying that it is suspicious how they started filming something that may have not unfolded in such a riveting manner, deeming it to be too coincidental and most likely fabricated.

This is also something I question myself, and with the success of The Social Network, this subsequent film involving a story based on Facebook would surely amount to success!

Well, whether it’s true or false, the film is filled with intrigue and definitely worth watching, even if it is just to stare at a very good looking boy for an hour and a half!

"Kingfisher's Takeaway Throne in the Bin"

Having received a leaflet in the post for what looked like a true student-friendly take-away on Bread Street, Edinburgh, displaying a wide range of tummy-warming food on their menu, I decided to avail of their services and ordered a baked potato a la chicken salad. At under 4 pounds I was happy to pay for what was pictured as a nicely presented jacket potato with all the trimmings. To my dismay, I was delivered what looked more like a pile of vomit mashed into a crumpled burger box with oil seeping through the packaging. Mmmm, tasty…for the birds outside maybe, or more generously for the mouse that has been an unwelcome resident in my bedroom for the last few months, but that is another story entirely! Anyway, as well as my own feelings of disgust towards this potato palava, my two roommates were no more happy than the pervert that lives in our bin outside our house. Again, that is another story for another time! Moral of the story at hand is: Never order from Kingfisher’s Takeaway on Bread Street in Edinburgh. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll just be taking the rubbish out…

"Sushi? Yes please."

Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends last night at ‘Yes Sushi’ restaurant, on Hanover Street in Edinburgh. I have been talking incessantly about sushi since I arrived here nearly a year ago, and only relished the experience last night, one which I hope to indulge in again soon! The restaurant is really nice, and the service was pretty quick. We also revelled in the fact that it was 30 per cent off for students; always a good way to lure in us poverty stricken uni-heads! I have posted a pic of the food I had, called Prawn Futomaki, a delectable dish I will be devouring again I’m sure!
